TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct 11, 2013) - For the fourth consecutive year Canada's best and brightest in social media, public relations, and digital media gathered for BlissDomCanada the premiere event for brands, influencers, marketers and mavens. From October 3 to 5, the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre was the backdrop for the much-anticipated and successful BlissDom Canada.
"Our vision was to use BlissDom Canada as an event to bring all these different personalities, talents, and experts together to create a welcoming, safe space where we could all meet, grow, and share our individual experiences and expertise and make the online world just a bit smaller. Community-building and fostering social kindness are everything for us. The feedback so far has been amazingly positive," says Jennifer Powell, principal of BlissDom Canada.
Featuring keynotes from entrepreneur and fundraising expert Drew Dudley, Kirstine Stewart of Twitter Canada, and panels featuring the likes of Glennon Doyle Melton of Momastery.com and Glen Canning, whose daughter Rehtaeh Parsons was a victim of internet bullying-the Twitterverse, Facebook and Instagram were on fire about all things #BlissDomCA throughout the weekend. With more than 24,000 tweets going out to share the BlissDom Canada buzz, the sold-out conference was also trending in Canada through the weekend, surpassing the 87 million impressions achieved in the month leading up to the conference.
Lead sponsor Chevrolet Canada was once again thrilled to be participating in another successful BlissDom Canada event. "BlissDom Canada is one of the conferences we always look forward to! For the past 4 years Chevrolet Canada has been a supporter of BlissDom Canada and each year it only gets better," shares Natalie Nankil, media relations manager of General Motors of Canada. "Being able to support a conference that allows bloggers from across Canada to connect and learn from each other is one of the reasons we return to BlissDom Canada each year. It also gives us an opportunity to connect with bloggers and share what's happening at Chevrolet-whether it be new our products or community programs."
Sponsor activations went far beyond traditional tradeshow and event marketing efforts. Attendees were invited to lounge and create signature donuts in the #Timspiration suite by Tim Hortons. A glamping (glamour + camping) night hosted by Maple Leaf Foods, Wine Country Ontario, PayPal Canada, and Sunlight featured dining under the stars with a performances by Canadian country sensation Teneille and R & B songstress Jully Black. McDonald's Canada evoked childhood memories with a retro-styled suite decked in the famous red and yellow colour palette where attendees were treated to McDonald's new signature wraps and salads. And Cottonelle got cheeky with their clever #LetsTalkAboutBums activation that took over the conference floor bathrooms.
With the epic speaker line-up and leading sponsors like Chevrolet Canada, Maple Leaf Foods, Tim Hortons, McDonald's Canada, Microsoft Canada, Lentils Canada, Cottonelle, Philosophy, YummyMummyClub, UNICEF, and so many more, BlissDom Canada 2013 was a showcase of the leading brands and influencers on social media in Canada.
