Software and Business Service Management (:BSM) company BMC Software (BMC) recently announced that the City of Long Beach, California has implemented the BMC Control-M Workload Automation solution in order to deliver improved IT services. Aided by this new technology from BMC, the city aims to better handle its workload and manage costs effectively.

BMC’s Control-M Workload Automation solution can efficiently manage and schedule IT workloads that support municipal processes. The efficient Municipal management has emerged as a big issue for government organizations across the globe, and we believe that this technology may address the particular issue.

The company is playing a pivotal role in providing remedial measures to different organizations across the globe. Recently, China-based PC maker Lenovo Group Ltd. implemented BMC’s Remedy ITSM suite to reduce ITSM complexities.

Lenovo, which markets IBM Corp.’s (IBM) ThinkPad line of notebook PCs and ThinkCentre line of desktops apart from its own brands, intends to offer a new unified managed services solution powered by BMC’s Remedy ITSM suite. The Remedy suite boasts a strong track record of reducing ITSM related complexities.

Apart from improving its customer base by providing new offerings, the company is making a sincere effort to strengthen its cloud computing platform. The company recently introduced a non-intrusive, real-time, real-user application performance management-as-a-service (APMaaS) solution, namely the BMC End User Experience Management OnDemand, which monitors individual user performance and helps in tracking errors.

Growth seems imminent for the IT solutions provider. Nonetheless, weaker expenditure from different government and private customers and the recent European economic turmoil will remain headwinds for the next few quarters. Concurrently, heightened competition from big industry players such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ), EMC Corp. (EMC) and CA Inc. (CA) remains a concern.

Currently, BMC Software has a Zacks #3 Rank, indicating a short-term Hold rating.
