BMC Software Inc. (BMC) recently announced that it has provided its information technology service management (ITSMF) support to MemorialCare Health System for an undisclosed amount.
MemorialCare Health System is a not-for-profit organization operating through six renowned hospitals across southern California. It was difficult for the organization to handle helpdesk matters across six operating units, and ended up in more complicated IT management. MemorialCare was able to fix the bottleneck with BMC Software’s TrackIt solution.
BMC TrackIt facilitates effective, user-friendly and faster help desk system implementation. The solution automates the process of collecting data, analysing the same and generating a comprehensive solution for customer request. This also lessens the task of IT staff supervision.
Through BMC TrackIt, MemorialCare is resolving customer/patient request at a time for its six medical facilities, while boosting problem solving rates, reducing operating costs and enhancing customer/patient satisfaction.
Earlier this month, London-based IT services company Oryx Align adopted BMC Software’s TrackIt in order to solve problems within its service calls.
The success of TrackIt can be widely gauged from the fact that the solution has been accepted by around 50,000 organizations. The solution was inherited from Numara Software, which was acquired in January 2012.
With the strategic acquisition, BMC Software has been able to access more than 13,000 service and asset management solutions that has enabled it to improve the services offered. Also, it will help the company to make headway in the SaaS service desk offering to the fast-growing SMB segment in the market.
Growth seems imminent for the IT solutions provider. Nonetheless, weaker expenditures from different governments and the ongoing European economic turmoil will remain headwinds in the near term. At the same time, heightened competition from big industry players such as IBM Corp. (IBM), Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ), EMC Corp. (EMC) and CA Inc. (CA) remain a concern.
Currently, BMC Software has a Zacks #3 Rank, indicating a short-term Hold recommendation.
