BMC Wins Two More Deals

The CyrusOne deal is the latest in a string of deals that BMC Software (BMC) has won in recent times.

The global enterprise data center services provider CyrusOne has deployed the BMC Remedy OnDemand IT Service Management suite because of its ability to solve problems, capture billable activity and deliver consistent customer experience across its data centers.

This followed another deal from Holiday Travel of America that BMC won last week. Holiday Travel was facing troubles due to its limited IT resources. Thus, the leading player in the incentive travel industry opted for the BMC FootPrints solution to improve its automated manual IT asset management processes. This is expected to maximise application performance for users.

Earlier this month, Saudi Arabian mobile telecommunications company mobily opted for BMC’s Cloud Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution. Also, cloud-based talent management software solutions provider Cornerstone OnDemand deployed BMC’s End User Experience Management solution. While mobily needed a solution for deploying cloud services and automating its IT infrastructure; Cornerstone OnDemand wanted to provide its 9.4 million users with top quality customer service.

The increasing number of deal flows has helped BMC to improve its business volume and expand its customer base. Last month, BMC had won a contract from Osiatis. Osiatis is using BMC’s Business Service Management solution for achieving several of its business goals.

Moreover, it is worth mentioning in this context that the proven success of BMC’s Control-M Workload Automation solution at various enterprises has fetched recognition from the U.S. IT research firm Gartner Inc. (IT). Earlier this year, Gartner positioned the suite in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2012 “Magic Quadrant for Workload Automation.”

Though European concerns persist, we remain positive about BMC’s continuous deal wins and License booking growth in the Enterprise Service Management segment. We also believe that the proposition to buy back common stock will encourage investors.

Currently, BMC Software has a Zacks #3 Rank, implying a short-term Hold rating.
