CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Aug 28, 2013) - BMO Harris Bank announced today its partnership with the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) to present the 2013 Make the Connection! Hispanic Business Expo at Navy Pier. This will be BMO Harris Bank's sixth consecutive year as a presenting sponsor.
The 2013 Make the Connection! Hispanic Business Expo is one of the largest events for Hispanic businesses and professionals in the country. This single-day event will give thousands of Hispanic business owners the opportunity to establish relationships with decision makers in both government agencies and Corporate America.
"The importance of the IHCC's efforts in supporting the Hispanic business community can't be emphasized enough, which is why we are such strong supporters of their work. Latinos are a core part of our nation's economic, political and cultural agenda and this community is vitally important to our economic prosperity as a nation. We are proud to serve the Latino community and witness the transformative and positive effect Latinos continue to make everywhere we do business," said Mark Furlong, President and CEO, BMO Harris Bank.
"IHCC is excited to once again partner with BMO Harris and we're looking forward to hosting BMO Harris' President & CEO Mark Furlong at the Hispanic Business Expo's Opening Breakfast," said Omar Duque, President & CEO, Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "BMO Harris' commitment to IHCC and to the Hispanic business community is critical to our efforts to help Hispanic businesses grow and succeed," said Duque.
The event presents more than 115 exhibitors and 11 educational workshops. BMO Harris will have a booth at the expo, and employees from different lines of business will meet and greet expo attendees. Exhibitors include decision makers in the public and private sectors, top Hispanic entrepreneurs, Hispanic professionals and employers seeking a diverse talent pool.
For years, the opening breakfast has served as a platform for business and political leaders to share their visions to promote Hispanic business growth and success. This year's speakers include U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, George Halas McCaskey, Chairman of the Chicago Bears, Mark Furlong, President & CEO, BMO Harris Bank, N.A., and Jerry Fuentes, President, AT&T Arizona/New Mexico.
