Boeing speeds up first delivery of 737 MAX

Boeing (BA) announced that first delivery of the 737 MAX 8 to launch customer Southwest Airlines (LUV) will be a quarter earlier than originally scheduled and occur in 3Q17 instead of 4Q17. The company also announced the retirement of key technology risks on the 737 Max program. After firm configuration is achieved, the 737 MAX team will begin detailed design of the airplane, scheduled for completion in 2014, Boeing said.
