Bolivia TV Upgrades Broadcast Network with IDC's TITAN Video Encoders and HMR Receivers

Marketwired

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 19, 2013) - As Latin American broadcasters look toward greater technological capabilities at competitive pricing, International Datacasting (IDC.TO) is pleased to announce a major contract to upgrade the broadcasting equipment for Bolivia TV. Already a valuable customer for IDC since April 2012, Bolivia TV will enhance its capabilities by deploying 7 high performance TITAN Video Encoders, as well as 11 of the rugged and compact HMR Receivers throughout the central South American country. By bundling more software with hardware at a competitive price, IDC is providing Bolivia TV with both leading-edge technology and strong value for money.

Bolivia TV serves a culturally rich population of nearly 10.5 million residents, who enjoy a wide array of interests including art, cuisine, music and sports. Bolivia TV will leverage IDC's high picture quality to broadcast events nationwide, from the latest soccer match in La Paz to a memorable night with the Bolivian Philharmonic Orchestra from Santa Cruz. IDC's equipment can also handle many different types of news and sports formats from across the continent, allowing access to more programming than ever before.

"We believe that the winning formula of IDC's functionality, flexibility and quality coupled with our healthy on-going relationship will be a driving force for Bolivia TV's success, as we stay a step ahead of the latest technological challenges in broadcasting," said Ruben Dario Marquez Choque, Technical Manager for Bolivia TV.

The TITAN Video Encoders tackle the unique challenges of professional broadcasting by employing an intuitive system that provides high picture quality in an ISDB-T environment. This extremely user-friendly interface allows operators to set up contribution links quickly and easily.

A perfect complement to the TITAN Encoder, IDC's HMR Receivers are a series of rugged, compact, multi-format, professional IRDs. The HMR5440 and HMR5442 professional video receivers are ideally suited to broadcast contribution and distribution applications where multiple video formats (SD and HD), interface flexibility (satellite and IP) and content protection (BISS) are required. HMR also offers an unprecedented combination of features, performance and reliability at an industry-leading price.

IDC offers its customers, including Bolivia TV, 20 years of experience as a global leader in digital content distribution.  "We look forward to building our relationship with Bolivia TV by providing solutions that offer great value with outstanding results." said Doug Lowther, CEO of IDC.
