BP's (BP) trial for its role in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill began in New Orleans. The first stage of the trial, set to last several months, will focus on negligence and blame for the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history that resulted from a well rupture that killed 11 workers. Shares fell 3.4% to 40.40.
