BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- The Buffalo dinnerware maker Niagara Ceramics is shutting down, putting 110 employees out of work.

The company filed a notice with the state Labor Department Monday, citing economic reasons for the immediate closure.

An investment group purchased the business from Oneida Ltd., nine years ago after Oneida announced it would close.

Niagara Ceramics made cookware, plates, bowls and other items for museums, corporations and restaurants.
