CARMEL, Ind. (AP) -- The governor's office says billionaire investor Warren Buffett is expected to join in a ceremony opening a new customer service center for the Geico insurance company in suburban Indianapolis.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is scheduled to take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Buffett at the center in Carmel. Geico announced plans for the service center in March, saying it could have up to 1,200 workers in the next few years.

Geico is among numerous businesses owned by Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway holding company.

Geico said those working at the Carmel service center would include agents, trainers, supervisors and support staff.

State officials say the office opened in April and has about 250 workers.
