BUFORD, WY--(Marketwired - Sep 3, 2013) - Nguyen Dinh Pham, the 38-year old Vietnamese businessman who purchased the town of Buford, Wyoming, at auction for $900,000 in April 2012, today announced the rebranding of the town to "PhinDeli Town Buford" and the launch of his Vietnamese PhinDeli Fine Coffee business targeting American coffee drinkers. Nguyen shared his ambitious plan for the town at an unveiling ceremony before State and County officials, community members, Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American guests and press representatives. Former town owner, Don Sammons, who was named co-mayor, and business partner, Vietnamese coffee marketing executive, Tuan Do, joined Nguyen for the announcement.

Nguyen and his investment partners have formed a new company, PhinDeli Corporation (www.phindeli.com), with a plan to introduce a retail brand of Vietnamese coffee products into the United States. The name of the new Corporation combines "Phin" which means "filter" and is used for brewing coffee in Vietnam, and "Deli" which means "delicious" to express "delicious coffee." While Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee exporter, there are few Vietnamese retail coffee brands and none sold in the United States.

Buford will play a key role in the Corporation's marketing plans and will serve as the U.S. home to PhinDeli Fine Coffee products. The company plans to offer visitors free coffee samples in the town's convenience store.

"Introducing the PhinDeli brand of coffee from the small town of Buford seems to honor both unique cultures," said Nguyen Dinh Pham. "While the town may be small it touches a large amount of people. We hope the same for our Vietnamese coffee brand."

The story of the auction of Buford, Wyoming, located on Interstate-80 about 30 miles west of Cheyenne and 125 northwest of Denver, captured the imagination of the world. Media outlets in more than 100 countries shared the story of the town and its only owner and resident, Don Sammons. Persons from 46 different countries attended the live, global auction on-site and online at www.auctionnetwork.com. Nguyen flew to Buford from Vietnam to bid in-person and fulfill his American dream.

Nguyen's partner in the PhinDeli business is Tuan Do, a veteran coffee marketing practitioner who will serve as CEO. "Much of my career has been focused on introducing and selling American coffee brands in Vietnam on behalf of large, Multi-national Corporations including Kraft Foods," said Tuan Do. "Now I get to do the reverse and introduce Vietnamese coffee into the United States. I find this very exciting."

The PhinDeli Corporation has developed a unique process of roasting and blending to create multiple characteristics and flavor balance, providing a distinct taste for each of the coffee blends in the PhinDeli "Can-Do" product line. Final products are blended from a variety of Arabica and Robusta beans grown from different coffee producing regions of Vietnam and only the finest quality beans can be used to produce PhinDeli Fine Coffee. PhinDeli coffees are produced in an international standard, HACCP certified, modern production facility. Four blends of PhinDeli Fine Coffee will be sold in "PhinDeli Town Buford" and also will be available for purchase through Amazon.com.

This is an exciting next chapter for this town that started its history 147 years ago. "When I purchased the town of Buford more than 20 years ago, I thought it was special and now the world seems to feel the same way," said Don Sammons. "As an American and a Vietnam War Vet, it has a deeper meaning to me to hand this town over to Nguyen to live out his own version of the American dream. Nguyen's passion and optimism reminds me of myself 20 years ago."
