The Florida Legislature Has Passed a New Law That Tightens the Criteria for Timeshare Resale Companies to Operate in the State

Florida Senate Bill 1408, which has passed the full Senate during the last week of the 2012 Session following earlier approval from the Florida House of Representatives, now awaits the signature of Governor Rick Scott. Should the Governor sign the bill, as expected, the new law will take effect on July 1, 2012.

The new law will require all resale operators to obtain a signed contract from a timeshare owner looking to sell an interval before charging the owner for the cost of advertising.
