CalAmp's GovOutlook Deployed by City of San Diego to Provide Comprehensive Fleet Management and Tracking Services

CalAmp's Solution Protects Valuable Assets, Improves Productivity and Increases Customer Satisfaction

OXNARD, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 9, 2016) - CalAmp (NASDAQ: CAMP), a leading provider of wireless products, services and solutions, today announced the City of San Diego has deployed GovOutlook™, CalAmp's Esri® GIS-based Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system in city-owned vehicles. GovOutlook is a GPS vehicle tracking system that seamlessly integrates with the City of San Diego's internal Esri GIS map and utility assets data and provides a complete real-time and historical view of vehicles and mobile resources across a variety of city departments.

"CalAmp's GovOutlook solution has enabled the refuse and recycling program to manage its vehicles and mobile assets with increased efficiency and productivity," said Mary Valerio, Deputy Environmental Services Director with the City of San Diego. "Not only does the system improve the ability of our field supervisors to manage large numbers of crews, but also helps us provide improved services to the citizens of San Diego."

This implementation was spearheaded through the City of San Diego's Fleet Services Division, which is responsible for maintenance of thousands of City vehicles. The real-time data provided through GovOutlook has allowed City Departments to more effectively manage their operations and requests for service. In addition, GovOutlook collects information from various mechanisms installed on City vehicles such as street sweeper brooms, and provides that information in relation to a specific street address, parcel, customer, route or other landmarks. The actionable intelligence provided enables agencies such as the Environmental Services Department to respond to service inquiries quickly and accurately and provide an optimized customer service experience for citizens throughout the community.

"A large technology-savvy city government like San Diego reaps the benefits of an enterprise class AVL system like GovOutlook," said Michael Zachan, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CalAmp's Wireless Network business. "The information provided by GovOutlook allows the Fleet Department to improve vehicle optimization and better manage fuel costs and other usage related expenses."
