Richard Lehrer and Arthur Grutt, principals of the Cambridge Organization, believe too few people are given sufficient knowledge about the insurance they purchase and own.
They ask “If insurance protects our families, incomes and health, why does it seem so confusing?” And with more than half of the 30 million Gen X and Y households being uninsured, with baby boomers concerned about outliving their incomes and the costs of long term care, “where does one find access to unbiased information?”
Further disturbing findings include that one third of married women do not own life insurance despite the fact that 7 in 10 households are dual-income households, and that nearly 30% of wives earn more than their husbands.

The Laura Smith Program features expert advice and listener call-ins which allow for direct call in Q&A on these important issues, and their appearances will be on Sunday, April 7th, May 5th and June 2nd.
Among many important topics, listeners will learn how and when to consider appropriate insurance products either thru work or individually; how rates are determined; how long term care insurance protects your savings and 401k accounts; how consumers with prior health issues including heart, cancer and diabetes can now secure coverage.
They will also be able to phone in and speak with the Cambridge experts.
