LONDON (AP) -- Prime Minister David Cameron's office says new Cabinet ministers have been appointed in the aftermath of Britain's tabloid phone hacking scandal and amid reforms to the country's nationalized health care system.
Legislator Jeremy Hunt has lost his Culture Secretary post after criticism of his close ties to James Murdoch, media mogul Rupert Murdoch's son. He becomes Health Secretary.
Maria Miller, a junior welfare minister and previously an advertising executive, has been promoted to the job of handling the country's raucous media.
Cameron on Tuesday was making the first major overhaul of his Cabinet and his 100-strong ministerial team since taking office in 2010. He left his most senior allies in place but has promoted a crop of young fiscal Conservatives to drive home his economic message.
