Car lines 25 deep at Long Island gas stations

Drivers fume over 25-deep car lines at Long Island gas stations _ and rising prices

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- About 25 cars lined up at a gas station in Farmingdale, Long Island.

The scene was the same at a station in North Amityville on Thursday morning.

Katie Leggio of Baldwin said she'd been searching for gas for two hours.

She says that either the stations are out of gas, or the lines are "ridiculous."

Leggio says she's running out of patience amid the "madness."

The price for regular there was $4.39. That's about 50 cents higher than the typical Long Island price a week ago.

Jerome Riley of Massapequa thinks gas stations should give customers a break after the storm and lower their prices a little bit.
