Carnival (CCL) to Sail Five Cruise Ships to Bermuda in 2016
Carnival Corporation CCL recently announced that it will offer cruises to Bermuda in 2016, with 10 departures featuring at least one overnight docked at the popular King's Wharf port. Five different ships will depart from six U.S. ports from Apr through Nov 2016, with itineraries ranging from five to eight days.
Five-day tours offer a night at Bermuda while seven-day cruises spend a couple of nights docked at King's Wharf; the eight-day journey features three nights on the island. Five of Carnival’s ships that will be sailing out to the island include the Carnival Pride, Carnival Victory, Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Sunshine.
Bermuda is a popular destination among tourists for its exclusive pink sand beaches, pastel architecture and the well-known Bermuda shorts. The island offers loads of activities like first-rate golf courses, along with stunning beaches, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and underwater explorations by glass-bottom boat, snorkel or scuba that attract guests from all over the world. Bermuda’s tropical ambiance and relaxed lifestyle are further attractions for tourists. With overnight visits, guests will also be able to experience the island's local party hangouts and dine ashore.
Carnival has adopted a strategy to expand beyond its familiar itineraries and capitalize on the fast growing tourist markets worldwide. The Bermuda market for cruises is expected to ramp up significantly, as it becomes more consumer driven.
Carnival currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Other stocks in the same sector that are performing well include The Marcus Corporation MCS, Diamond Resorts International, Inc. DRII and Manchester United plc MANU. While The Marcus Corporation sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), both Diamond Resorts and Manchester United carry the same Zacks Rank as Carnival.
