CBS rift hit Time Warner Cable

Pay-TV subscribers fled Time Warner Cable (TWC) during its monthlong blackout dispute with CBS (CBS) in Aug., resulting in the highest quarterly losses ever for any multichannel video provider. Time Warner Cable lost 304,000 subscribers in Q3, and the top 9 U.S. cable companies in all had a net loss of 600,643 subscribers in the quarter, Leichtman Research Group said in a research report, cable's biggest net loss since Q3 '10. TWC shares rose 0.5% to 121.53. CBS fell 1.6% to 59.60.
