Rates on longer-term certificates of deposit continued to erode in this week's rate survey.

The average one-year CD yield is unchanged at 0.25 percent. Down 1 basis point, the five-year yield is 0.79 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.

Purchasing a jumbo CD with a $100,000 deposit will not buy much extra yield. The one-year jumbo CD yield is unchanged at 0.28 percent. The five-year yield fell 1 basis point this week to 0.82 percent.

Once again, for the 16th consecutive week, the average money market account yield is 0.12 percent.
