Rates on longer-term certificates of deposit went up this week as a result of a change in the lineup of banks in Bankrate's weekly rate survey.
The average five-year CD yield was up 1 basis point to 0.81 percent. For $100,000, the average five-year jumbo CD yield was up 1 basis point to 0.85 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percent.
The average one-year CD yield was unchanged at 0.23 percent. Also unchanged, the average one-year jumbo CD yield was 0.24 percent.
For the second week, the average money market account yield was 0.11 percent.
