Rates on certificates of deposit have stopped leaking basis points, at least for this week. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.
With no change from last week's rate survey, the average one-year CD yield is 0.27 percent, as it has been for the past four weeks. The five-year yield is 0.87 percent for the second straight week.
Jumbo CD rates are just as meager. For a $100,000 deposit, the average one-year CD yield stayed at 0.3 percent. The average jumbo CD five-year yield remains the same at 0.88 percent.
The average money market account yield is unchanged at 0.12 percent for the fourth week.
