Longer-term rates on certificates of deposit dropped this week while short-term CD rates held their ground.
The average five-year CD yield is down 1 basis point to 0.94 percent. For deposits of $100,000, the average five-year jumbo CD yield is down 2 basis points to 0.95 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.
The average one-year CD yield is again unchanged at 0.29 percent. The average one-year jumbo CD yield is also unchanged at 0.31 percent for the seventh week.
The average money market account yield is 0.11 percent.
