Chambers Street Acquires the Headquarters of Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX)

Chambers Street Properties (CSG), a real estate investment trust focused on acquiring, owning and operating net leased industrial and office properties, announced it has purchased 1 Rocket Road, an industrial property of approximately 510,000 square feet in Hawthorne, California, for $46.7 million.

The property is the headquarters of Space Exploration Technologies Corp., or SpaceX, which designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The private company was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk, its CEO and Chief Designer, with the goal of revolutionizing space transportation. The property is fully leased on a net lease basis through January 2023.
