Chemical weapons watchdog says to send more inspectors to Syria


AMSTERDAM, Oct 8 (Reuters) - The global chemical weaponswatchdog said on Tuesday it would send more inspectors to Syriato help destroy President Bashar al-Assad's vast stockpile oftoxic munitions.

The head of the Hague-based Organisation for the Prohibitionof Chemical Weapons, Ahmet Uzumcu, said in a statement Syria hadmade "a constructive beginning for what will nonetheless be along and difficult process."
