Chicago Sun-Times owner invests in algorithm-driven news aggregator

According to a report at the site Crain’s Chicago Business, the parent company of the Chicago Sun-Times has invested in an algorithm-driven news aggregation service called Aggrego that will produce short news content for the paper and its siblings. The startup’s staff of 40 includes several former employees of Journatic, a similar content-creation company that the Chicago Tribune invested in that caused some controversy over its journalistic methods.
