China mulls new Internet regs

Investor's Business Daily

The gov't is mulling regulations that would require all Internet users to verify their identities, state run media reported. Earlier this year it put in place a real-name requirement for those who want to post on social networks; it has allowed others to browse those networks and other sites without verifying their names. U.S.-traded shares of Sina (SINA), which runs microblogging service Weibo.com, fell 1.6%. Search engine Baidu (BIDU) dropped 2%, while rival Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU) fell a fraction.
