CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
CIC Advisory, a clinician-led healthcare informatics consulting firm, is pleased to announce the release of its latest report on the challenges and opportunities facing the country’s top healthcare organizations. In “The State of Healthcare Analytics: Fifty Top Leaders Offer Their Perspective,” CIC Advisory offers healthcare professionals an insider’s look at current conditions across the industry and offers fresh insights into things to come.
From May 8 to May 22, 2013, CIC Advisory conducted a survey of 50 CIOs and Healthcare executives at non-profit and for-profit hospitals, multi-hospital systems, and academic medical centers across the United States. Respondents were asked about the tools provided by vendor organizations, quality and use of data, emphasis on strategy as compared to tactics, and availability of necessary skill sets. Although the leaders represented a variety of organizations, there was significant agreement on many issues.
The report also includes a number of recommendations that can help Healthcare Leaders navigate the challenges ahead. Said Cynthia Davis, RN, FACHE, co-founder and principal of CIC Advisory, “Healthcare leaders are in the midst of an unprecedented period of activity. In addition to looming deadlines to comply with federal health care mandates and incentive plans, Healthcare Leaders are constantly striving to improve patient care and workflow, maximize the value of patient and provider data, and increase return on technology investments.”
Adds Marcy Stoots, MS, RN-BC, also co-founder and principal of CIC Advisory, “As healthcare organizations are being asked to cooperate with each other on many levels, including sharing electronic health records (EHR) through health information exchanges (HIEs), it makes sense that sharing knowledge about the state of the industry can similarly help every organization become more effective.”
Ms. Davis and Ms. Stoots founded CIC Advisory to help hospitals use technology to provide more effective, efficient and safer patient care. Both are former critical care nurses with decades of experience leading fast-track clinical employee health records (EHR) projects. Together with a strong team of consulting and IT professionals, CIC Advisory delivers solutions that result in high rates of physician and clinician satisfaction and adoption, coordinated care processes and improved clinical outcomes.
