The Banker magazine recognized the Citi Financial Institutions Insights application as Customer Data Management Technology Project of the Year in the 2014 Technology Projects of the Year Awards.
Citi Financial Institution Insights, developed by the Citi Latin America Innovation Lab in Miami, is a tool that enables Citi’s corporate clients to generate profits by improving their margins around transaction flows. The application allows Citi to present its clients with:
- Relevant Payments and Collection information from their treasury and commercial business.
- Counter-party information for better understanding of important data points in order to have a robust risk management system. This includes end-beneficiary information that has traditionally not been visible to them.
- A simulator where Citi can model and propose potential improvements to its clients’ pricing models by making changes to key data points to improve profitability.
Driss Temsamani, Citi’s Head of Business Intelligence, Analytics & Innovation for Latin America said “We are honored to be recognized with this award. We’ve been able to create a way to visualize data for our clients and present it to them in an interactive, immersive and compelling way that is unique in the marketplace. This was only possible thanks to our strong and trust-based relationships with them.”
The Banker’s Technology Projects of the Year awards aim to recognize innovative, forward-thinking and cutting-edge projects that clearly demonstrate their benefit to the end-user. The Banker picked the winners from nearly 200 individual submissions from technology providers, consultancies and financial institutions across the world.
“Decades from now, data may very well replace cash as the most valuable asset in a bank's vault. Because of big data, banks will be able to create new products and services that generate revenue and additional business opportunities,” added Temsamani.
Citi, the leading global bank, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
