SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2012) - Citrix (
Podio's team-based collaborative work platform brings collaboration and business processes together through workspaces and apps -- more powerful, collaborative and social alternatives to spreadsheets, documents and email. With the new Podio app for Android, teams can manage their projects in Podio workspaces and get real work done on the go by accessing the same Podio apps on their mobile devices as they use on the web-version of Podio. For example project managers can now use Podio's Simple Project Management app on Android to track the progress of projects and deliverables, edit content and add comments in the right workspace, keeping everyone on the same page whether they're in the office or on the road.
Podio platform apps can be found in the Podio App Market and easily customized for any type of work using the simple drag-and-drop Podio App Builder, a unique web-based tool that enables anyone to create custom apps for their work -- whether it's managing projects, interfacing with clients or partners, planning an event, coordinating marketing campaigns or receiving customer feedback. All of the 700 free apps in the Podio App Market are now available on the new Podio app for Android. Today more than 65,000 apps have been built using the Podio App Builder on the web and more than a million apps installed in Podio workspaces, representing as many unique ways of getting work done. With Podio for Android, all of these Podio apps can now be instantly be accessed on the Android. No technical skills or IT support is needed to create a Podio app -- anyone can set one up in minutes then put it to use on their Android device.
With the new Podio app for Android, users can also post status messages in their shared activity streams in Podio workspaces, easily reducing email volume for teams and business departments. Management of personal task lists, assigning tasks to coworkers, and accessing company contact directories is also possible with the redesigned app.
