Clearwater Paper names Massman as new CEO

Clearwater Paper promotes Linda Massman to CEO; executive was named operating chief last year

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Clearwater Paper Corp. said Friday that it has named Linda Massman as its next CEO.

Massman, 45, is currently president and chief operating officer of the paper company. She succeeds Gordon Jones, 62, who will retire at the end of the year. In addition to her new duties as president and CEO, Massman will also join the company's board of directors.

Clearwater hired Massman as vice president and chief financial officer in 2008. She was promoted to her current position in 2011.

The company also said Friday that its vice chairman and lead director of the board, Boh Dickey, will take over as chairman of the board beginning Jan. 1.

Clearwater Paper, based in Spokane, Wash., makes tissue, paperboard and pulp.

Shares fell 10 cents to $40.78 by midday. The stock is at the higher end of its 52-week trading range between $29.84 and $41.99.
