CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 30, 2013) - Co3 Systems, the leader in Incident Response software, today announced the newest members of its Advisory Board, which was established to help guide the next phase of innovation in security and privacy incident response. The additions include senior information security, privacy risk and compliance executives, high tech innovators, acclaimed security authors, and entrepreneurs.
Co3 Systems Technology Advisory Board members include:
- Andrew Jaquith, Chief Technology Officer and SVP Cloud Strategy, SilverSky
Jaquith is a seasoned leader and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the security industry who has received numerous distinguished technical communication awards. He also serves on the advisory board at Apperian, a leading provider of solutions for creating, deploying and managing mobile applications for enterprises. Jaquith has held senior positions at Symantec, @stake, Forrester, and Yankee Group.
"As more applications, infrastructure and devices move to the cloud, security must follow. To do that, every company must master three disciplines -- prevention, detection and response. Co3 gives companies the ability to master the third discipline and the all-important but often neglected activity of incident response."
- Bruce Schneier, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, BT Managed Security Solutions
Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist and author who has testified on security before the United States Congress on several occasions. He's authored several books that have received top accolades from Fortune, Wired and other influential publications including: Applied Cryptography, Liars and Outliers, Secrets and Lies, and Beyond Fear. His blog Schneier on Security and monthly newsletter Crypto-Gram combined are read by a quarter million people.
"Co3's system for managing security and privacy breaches emphasizes people and process. This approach not only shores up incident response -- the short leg on the security stool at most organizations -- but has the potential to transform the risk equation. Quicker incident response lessens the requirement for yet more preventative controls. Security is a combination of protection, detection and response. It's about time someone paid attention to response."
- Patricia Titus, Serial Chief Information Security Officer
Most recently, Titus served as Vice President (VP) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Symantec where she was responsible for the information security of the world's largest security company, protecting millions of consumers and enterprise customers. Prior to Symantec, she served as VP and CISO at Unisys Corporation and CISO, Federal Systems, Unisys and CISO at the Transportation Security Administration.
"The inconsistency in controls, 'best' practices, and maturity across public and private sectors when it comes to security is truly our greatest weakness. Intelligence, innovation and insight tend to grow organically in small collectives and repeat similar mistakes again and again. Co3 is not only paving the way for rewiring how individual organizations prepare for and manage incidents, but they can be a platform and a starting point across organizations and sectors to improve the greater industry approach to the practice of incident response."
"We are enormously honored to collaborate with an advisory board of leading thinkers and practitioners across the security and privacy continuum," said John Bruce, CEO at Co3 Systems. "Executives of this caliber have plenty of opportunity to participate in advisory boards; the fact that they've joined ours is a testament to the market opportunity and our approach to it. With their help we're leading the industry in the next wave of security innovation -- incident response."
Co3 Systems' First Wave of Advisory Board members include:
- Joseph DeSalvo, Managing Director, Zero Point Risk Research
DeSalvo served as Chief Security Officer for Iron Mountain and was a Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
- Gerhard Eschelbeck, CTO & Senior Vice President, Sophos

As a technology pioneer, he held numerous senior executive positions at Webroot, Qualys and McAfee. He is a widely regarded expert on network and system security, and was invited to present his research in information security to the U.S. Congress.
