Colin Kaepernick Said That Watching Last Night's Debate Was "Embarrassing"

A month after San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand up during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality, he watched our nation's chosen presidential candidates go face-to-face during the first debate-and he wasn't happy about it.

Said Kaepernick on Tuesday afternoon, according to CBS News:

"To me, it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates. Both are proven liars and it almost seems like they're trying to debate who's less racist. And at this point, talking with one of my friends, it was, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but in the end, it's still evil."

Kaepernick also responded a statement Trump made last month during a radio interview, when he said that Kaepernick's protest during the national anthem is "not a good thing" and that he should "try to find a country that works better for him."

"[It was] a very ignorant statement, that if you don't agree with what's going on here and that if you want justice and liberty and freedom for all that you should leave the country," he said, according to CBS.
