HOTCHKISS, CO--(Marketwire -02/14/12)- Peak Spirits® farm distillery, distillers of CapRock® Organic Gin, CapRock® Organic Vodka, and Peak Organic Brandies, today announced that Haromex Development GmbH, the family owned luxury goods importer in Germany, will represent CapRock products in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland.
This comes on the heels of Peak Spirits taking home the top award in both the Gin and Vodka categories from the 2nd annual Good Food Awards in San Francisco in January. CapRock Gin was the only gin given top honors. The San Francisco-based program celebrates "food that is produced with a lot of soul, you can really feel the voice of the individual artisan making this food. This isn't industrial food, it isn't corporate food. It's artisanal food in the best sense," said Michael Pollan, Food Politics Writer and Good Food Awards Judge. Judges in the blind tastings included everyone from food writers to restaurateurs, to critics, retailers, and mixologists.
"As a farm distillery, we focus on farming practices as much as distilling techniques. For us the search for quality starts in the ground," said Lance Hanson, Peak Spirits founder & distiller. "Our farm-based distillery model is more common in Europe, but I think we'll see more like it in the US as more consumers realize the link between growing practices and spirits quality."
Peak Spirits Farm Distillery is part of Jack Rabbit Hill, a Demeter-certified Biodynamic® Farm that also grows estate wines as well as hops for breweries. CapRock Organic Gin is a unique blend of 9 fruits, flowers, roots & spices, all infused in a base spirit made with organic apples grown in neighboring orchards. CapRock Organic Vodka is made with wine grapes grown at Jack Rabbit Hill Farm where the distillery is located.
"It's always great fun to find real gems like CapRock. We're quite pleased Lance accepted our offer to represent them. And no need for smoke and mirrors marketing here, the CapRock quality speaks for itself," said Haromex Commercial Director Harald van Soest.
CapRock is the house offering in some the finest artisan restaurants and stores in the US, and Peak Spirits will focus on the same markets in Europe. "Given its success here at Founding Farmers Restaurant Group, I have no doubt CapRock's really gonna fly in Europe," said Jon Arroyo, Chief Mixologist, Vucurevich-Simons Advisory Group, Washington DC.
