Comcast tops, adds customers

The No. 1 cable provider added video customers for a 2nd straight quarter, leading to a 14% hike in Q1 sales of $17.4 bil, topping estimates. Comcast's (CMCSA) EPS rose 33% to 68 cents, in line with analyst estimates. Comcast said it had a net addition of 24,000 video customers in Q1. That followed the addition of 46,000 new video subscribers in Q4 '13 . Shares of Comcast, which is trying to buy smaller Time Warner Cable (TWC), rose 1.9% to 50.83. TWC fell 0.2% to 64.92.
