ConAgra Q3 EPS, sales miss

The maker of such packaged food brands as Hebrew National, Marie Callender and Orville Redenbacher said EPS rose 8% to 55 cents, missing views by a penny. Sales climbed 14% to $3.85 bil, under estimates of $3.87 bil. Nonadjusted earnings were hit by the Ralcorp acquisition, which closed Jan. 29 and made ConAgra (CAG) the largest producer of store brands. Sales at ConAgra's consumer foods segment rose 7% but sales volume for existing brands fell 3%. Shares fell 1.9% to 34.85.
