WEST FINLEY, Pa. (AP) -- Consol Energy Inc. officials say they're still assessing a conveyor collapse that has halted coal production at two southwestern Pennsylvania mines that feed the company's Bailey Preparation Plant.

Officials say nobody was hurt when the recently constructed conveyor broke down. The conveyor carries coal from the underground Bailey and Enlow Fork mines to the plant.

Consol officials have said workers at both mines remain on the job and that the mines might be able to operate at 60 percent capacity if one of the two conveyors could be fixed. If not, the company might not be able to remove coal from either mine for up to two weeks.

The Bailey mine has more than 1,000 employees while Enlow Fork has almost 700.

Consol says other mines are still supplying domestic customers, but some overseas sales could be affected.
