Corning announced that its board has elected Martin J. Curran to the position of senior VP and innovation officer, a new position in the company, effective Aug. 1. Curran, 53, will report to both Wendell P. Weeks, chairman, chief executive officer and president, and Dr. David L. Morse, executive VP and chief technology officer. Most recently, Curran served as senior VP and general manager, Corning Optical Fiber.
