Credit card rates were mixed this week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates.
The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for fixed-rate credit cards held at 13.02 percent, where it's been since early 2013. However, the APR for variable-rate credit cards went up 5 basis points to 15.62 percent. Prior to the spike, the APR for variable-rate cards had held at 15.57 percent for three straight weeks.
A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percent.
This week, P.F. Chang's identified the 33 locations involved in a breach of customer credit card and debit card data confirmed in June. The restaurant chain says while its investigation is ongoing, the compromise has been contained and that it has been processing credit card and debit card data securely at all locations since June 11, 2014.
