SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire -08/21/12)- Riverbed Technology (RVBD), the performance company, today announced that Johnna Bowley, senior director of channel programs and strategy, has been recognized by CRN Magazine as a Power 100 Woman of the Channel. This year's Power 100 Women of the Channel were selected by the editors of CRN Magazine from a field of applicants and nominees from vendor channel organizations, distributors and solution providers.
An elite subset of CRN's annual Women of the Channel list, the "Power 100" designation is awarded to the highest-ranking women holding the most prominent channel-focused positions in a vendor or solution provider organization. These women have made a name for themselves as influential leaders within their own company, and the IT channel as a whole.
This is Bowley's fifth year in a row receiving the Women of the Channel recognition by CRN Magazine. With more than 20 years of experience in the channel, Bowley leads the efforts to continually evolve the Riverbed® Partner Network (RPN), which provides the core framework for how Riverbed engages with and provides value to its partners. The RPN is a worldwide channel program that enables and rewards channel partners, including systems integrators, service providers, value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors that distribute and resell Riverbed award-winning technology. Bowley was also named a Channel Chief by CRN in March for her role in enhancing the Riverbed Partner Network with new profitability and enablement tools, which have helped grow partner revenues and Riverbed business through the channel in the last year.
"Now in its ninth annual publication, CRN's special 'Women of the Channel' issue is one of our most popular of the year," said Kelley Damore, vice president, editorial director at UBM Channel. The 'Power 100' designation is a special achievement award given to an elite subset of our Women of the Channel list. It's given to a small group of female executives based on their accomplishments over the past year, and their dedication to driving the overall success of the IT Channel. We want to honor and congratulate these women for their contributions to the industry and their respective organizations."
"I am honored with this recognition as a CRN Power 100 Woman of the Channel as it continues to validate that our strategy -- to provide market-leading performance solutions and a best-in-class channel program -- is the right approach," said Bowley. "Riverbed will continue to enhance RPN because of our commitment to grow our business through a channel sales model that is based on a profitable eco-system supported by innovative channel programs."
More than 19,000 organizations worldwide depend on Riverbed to understand, optimize and consolidate their IT infrastructure, through solutions that overcome performance issues caused by distance, distributed computing, and ever increasing amounts of data. As IT organizations embark on strategic initiatives to virtualize, consolidate and migrate workloads into cloud environments, users are moved farther from their data. Slow applications, slow file transfers and inefficient websites can negatively impact the performance and success of these initiatives. Riverbed transforms IT performance by providing solutions spanning WAN optimization, edge virtual server infrastructure (edge-VSI), application-aware network performance management, application delivery controllers, web content optimization (WCO), and cloud data protection for backup and disaster recovery. By providing the broadest portfolio of performance solutions that deliver anywhere, any-application optimization, Riverbed enables organizations to increase productivity and efficiency, while enhancing business resilience and controlling costs.
The Power 100 Women of the Channel is listed on CRN.com. The overall Women of the Channel list appeared in the July 2012 issue of CRN Magazine.
