Cross River Fiber Expands Its NJ Fiber Optic Footprint to Mahwah, New Jersey

Cross River Fiber's Latest Network Completion Offers Direct Connectivity to Key Financial Exchanges and Strategic Data Centers Throughout the New Jersey Metro Area

Marketwired

SUMMIT, NJ--(Marketwire - Feb 20, 2013) - Cross River Fiber, a New Jersey-based, boutique dark fiber optic and telecommunications solutions provider, announces today that it has completed its latest 40+ mile fiber optic buildout in Northern New Jersey. The new fiber optic network is robust and owned by Cross River Fiber, yet through its strategic partnership with Hudson Fiber Network (HFN), a leading U.S.-based transport and IP services provider specializing in delivering network solutions to the financial community, both companies can now offer a suite of Lit and Dark Fiber bandwidth solutions to end-users.

Exceeding published performance estimates and setting new industry standards, the Mahwah routes significantly reduced latency by utilizing direct fiber interconnections to 300 Boulevard East in Weehawken, 755 Secaucus Road in Secaucus, 165 Halsey Street in Newark, and 1400 Federal Boulevard in Carteret. Cross River Fiber was responsible for the design and construction of the physical fiber optic route, while HFN developed and architected the optical lit platform on the route. This platform allows offerings for 10MB to 40G optical lit and passive transport services.

"Through our strategic partnership with HFN, Cross River Fiber is able to expand its footprint to Mahwah, adding more fiber route miles to our already expansive, owned fiber optic network," says Vincenzo Clemente, President and CEO of Cross River Fiber. "The Mahwah paths are critical to New Jersey and New York metro area financial institutions and enterprises. They deliver the lowest fiber latency connectivity available today, as well as optimal performance and critical redundancy to aid in the transport of climbing market data volume."

The Mahwah routes mark yet another milestone for Cross River Fiber, further honing its ability to support the low-latency, high bandwidth requirements of enterprise and financial sectors. It is the first of three major network buildouts for Cross River in 2013, with projections to complete another 45 miles by the end of Q1, and another 65+ miles by end of Q4.
