HOUSTON, TEXAS--(Marketwired - Oct. 24, 2013) - Cub Energy Inc. ("Cub", or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KUB) announces it has commenced drilling of the Rusko-Komarovske-22 ("RK-22") development well on the Rusko-Komarovske ("RK") licence in western Ukraine. Cub is the owner and operator of the RK-22 and has a 100% working interest in the RK licence.
The RK-22 well is the first well for Cub to drill on the RK licence and has a planned total depth ("TD") of 1,900 metres. The main objective of the RK-22 well is to target the middle Miocene Lukovskaya, Dorobratovskaya and Badenian sands, which are locally referred to as the L-1, L-2, D-1 through D-5 and B-1 through B-5 sands as seen in the Company's RK-2 and RK-6 legacy wells.
The RK-22 location is approximately 640 metres northwest of the RK-2 well and was identified by 3-D seismic acquired by Cub in early 2013. The Company has contracted with Burtekhnologiya LLC for use of their ZJ20 drilling rig. The RK-22 well is being drilled with the ZJ20 and is expected to take approximately twenty-five days to reach TD.
