Cyber Monday sales set record

Consumers spent a record $1.46 bil on Cyber Monday, the day when websites offer special online holiday deals. But the growth rate of spending fell from the prior year, according to ComScore. Mon.'s spending was up 17% year-over-year, but spending on the year-ago day rose 22%, the market tracker said in a press release. Big winners included Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN), which said Mon. was the biggest day ever for sales of its Kindle tablets. Amazon shares rose 1.5% to 247.11.
