Czech leftists lead, new party scores big in election - partial results


PRAGUE, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Czech centre-left SocialDemocrats lead in the central European country's parliamentaryelection but a strong showing by a new centrist party maycomplicate talks on forming a government, partial results showedon Saturday.

The Social Democrats, who plan to raise taxes for banks andbig firms, led with 21.8 percent of the vote after 51 percent ofpolling stations had reported. The new centrist protest movementANO had 18.7 percent and the Communists, a potential partner forthe Social Democrats, 16.3 percent.
