Investors pulled $185.1 million out of SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), the physical gold ETF, as stocks dropped a day before Ben Bernanke is scheduled to appear before the U.S. Congress.
Overall, net flows were positive, to the tune of $3.24 billion, and total U.S.-listed ETF assets rose yesterday to more than $1.187 trillion from $1.185 trillion Friday, July 13, according to data compiled by IndexUniverse.
The net inflows offset the market’s movements, as the Dow Jones industrial average fell 49.88 points, or 0.4 percent, to 12,727.2. Industrial and consumer shares led the Dow lower, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Monday’s most popular fund was the SPDR S'P 500 ETF (SPY), which gathered $2.06 billion in new assets.
