TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - The decommissioning of TokyoElectric Power Co's Fukushima Daini nuclear powerplant, which is near the wrecked Daiichi plant, cannot be dealtwith in the same manner as the decommissioning of other nuclearplants, Japanese trade and industry minister Toshimitsu Motegisaid on Monday.
"The decommissioning of nuclear plants is something theutilities should decide, but we cannot treat the Daini plant inthe same manner as other plants when considering the sentimentof Fukushima residents," Motegi said at a parliamentary hearing.
Tokyo Electric, also known as Tepco, is working to containradioactive water at the Fukushima Daiichi plant, which sufferedmeltdowns and hydrogen explosions after it was hit by a massiveearthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
