Dell (DELL) is holding preliminary talks about going private with at least two private equity firms and several large banks have been contacted about financing an offer, reported Bloomberg, citing sources. According to CNBC, Dell stated that it does not respond to market rumors or speculation. Shares of Dell jumped over 10% and were halted for volatility following Bloomberg's headline report of the talks. Dell is up 12.6% to $12.26 in afternoon trading, while peer Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) also spiked after the report and are up nearly 5%.
