DENVER (AP) -- Denver International Airport says this past August was its busiest August on record.
The airport says nearly 5.1 million travelers passed through the airport in August, representing a 0.9 percent increase from the same month last year.
Through August, 35.78 million passengers have used the airport this year, up from about 35.76 million during the same time period in 2011.
The amount of cargo handled during August 2012 was down 1.8 percent from the same month last year to about 45.5 million pounds.
