Deutsche Bank taps former Barclays financial services banker -memo


NEW YORK, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank hastapped a former Barclays Plc financial services bankeras co-head of its global insurance group, according to aninternal memo sent to the bank's employees.

Gary Antenberg, who was most recently the head of AmericasInsurance at Barclays, has joined Deutsche Bank as managingdirector and co-head of global insurance in the financialinstitutions group, according to the memo sent on Tuesday andreviewed by Reuters. He is based in New York.

Bill Nichol, based in Hong Kong, will co-head the globalinsurance group with Antenberg, in addition to his currentresponsibilities as head of the Asia Pacific financialsinvestment banking coverage, according to the memo.

In addition, Stephen Fromm, head of Americas Insurance, willbecome vice chairman of financial services investment bankingcoverage, according to the memo.

Deutsche Bank worked with French insurer Scor inits $910 million acquisition of Assicurazioni Generali's U.S. life reinsurance business earlier this year.

The bank also represented Athene Holding Ltd in its $2.6billion acquisition of British insurer Aviva Plc's U.S.annuity and life insurance operations, which also closed thisyear.
