Dime Community Bancshares Ranked #4 Nationally Two Years in a Row
BROOKLYN, NY--(Marketwired - May 07, 2015) - Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (DCOM) (the "Company" or "Dime"), the parent company of The Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh (the "Bank"), announced today that for the second consecutive year, the Company finished fourth in The SNL Financial LC ("SNL Financial") Top 100 public thrift rankings, and this year is also SNL Financial's highest ranked public thrift in the New York metropolitan area. SNL Financial collects, standardizes and disseminates all relevant corporate, financial, market and M&A data -- plus news and analysis to investment banks, investment managers, corporate executives, ratings agencies, government agencies, among other clients.

This ranking was based on six financial metrics for the 12 months ended December 31, 2014, including return on average assets, return on average tangible common equity, efficiency ratio, median three-year growth rate in tangible book value per share, nonperforming loans to total loans (NPLs/loans) and net charge-offs to average loans. Only the top 100 publicly traded thrifts by assets were ranked.
