Dish Network (DISH) Beats Q1 Earnings - Tale of the Tape

Leading satellite TV operator in the U.S., Dish Network Corp. (DISH), provides almost 280 basic video channels to its customers. Meanwhile, the company’s subscriber count stands at approximately 14 million.

Dish Network currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) but that could change following its first quarter 2015 earnings report which has just released. We have highlighted some of the key stats from this just-revealed announcement below:

Earnings: The Company beats first quarter earnings. Our consensus called for EPS of $0.41, and the company reported EPS of $0.76.

Revenue: Dish Network generated total revenue of $3,724 million, slightly below the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3,725 million.

Key Stats to Note: At the end of the first quarter of 2015, DISH Network had approximately 13.844 million pay-TV subscribers against 14.097 million at the end of first quarter 2014. The company’s pay-TV subscriber churn increased to 1.65% in comparison to 1.42% in the first quarter of 2014.
